The purpose of this Guild shall be to promote the study, appreciation, preservation, and enjoyment f original arts and
crafts, as well as a forum for display of same. Our goals include encouraging artists and craftsmen to continue their
work and to improve the quality of the work; to encourage the community to become involved by sponsoring
community-wide workshops and special events in various arts and crafts; to provide artists and craftsmen with the
opportunity to meet and discuss their ideas and problems; to provide art and craft related information and to coordinate
local art and craft activities.
The Decatur Art Guild meets on the first Thursday of the month and the meetings alternate between the Morgan County
Archives and the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. The meetings at the Morgan County Archives begin at 1 p.m. in the
Guild office on the third floor. The meetings at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center begin at 5:30 p.m. for the officers and at
6:00 p.m. for the members and the program.
